10 December 2015 – hosted by Imperial
15 December 2015 - hosted by UCL
16 December 2015 - hosted by SGUL
17 December 2015 – hosted by BSMS
07 January 2016 – hosted by KCL

Applicants will be advised of the status of their TFS application on Friday 13 November 2015.  Interview slots will be bookable via FPAS and will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

Details of the TFS interview process together with maps, directions and full postal addresses for interview sites are available here.  A copy of the travel expense claim form and associated guidance is also available here.

Further information for applicants is available in the UKFPO FP/AFP 2016 Applicant’s Handbook (see http://www.foundationprogramme.nhs.uk/pages/academic-programmes/how-to-apply ).  The handbook includes full details of each step of the process and what applicants need to do to prepare in advance. It also explains how the points awarded for the SJT and the EPM, together with any additional scores, will be used when making AFP offers or allocating applicants to FP places.

2. Applying to the Thames Foundation Schools Academic Unit of Application

2a. Prospectus

The Thames Foundation Schools Academic Prospectus for August 2016 entry contains detailed information about applying to the TFS AUoA.  Programme details are contained in Appendix B.  A copy is available to download from the right hand side of the page. Please ensure that you read it carefully.

TFS will not require you to submit a CV.

In response to a number of enquiries last year, this is to clarify that when applying to AFP - Thames you will not be required to upload evidence for the Academic Selection part of the application process. However you may be required to provide supporting evidence at a later date if requested to do so as part of an audit of applications.

2b. Programme data

A spreadsheet summarising all of the available programmes is also available to download from the right hand side of the page. This has been created with an AutoFilter facility in case you wish to view a subset of the data.

Successful applicants are recruited to a specific 4 month academic F2 post i.e. academic GUM.  This post sits within a generic 2 year foundation programme with 5 other clinical placements, balanced to enable acquisition of foundation competences.  Applicants should note that clinical placements are subject to change dependent on service need and provisional until confirmed by the employing Trust.
